Although I am (at times) not the most talkative person deciding to start a podcast was an easy one for me.

Now I am not saying that I didn’t have reservations about doing so.

As a matter of fact I was (and still am) nervous about doing it.

But here is what made all the difference for me…I had a big enough WHY!

You see I believe that when your WHY is big enough it makes decisions a whole lot easier.

The reason WHY for the Dream Work Project is simple…you can read more about it here.

I knew that in order to get my message out there and to inspire as many people as I could I had to start a podcast…it wasn’t even an option NOT to.

So now that you know my WHY here are the specific reasons I decided to start a podcast

  1. To inspire others – I wanted to find and talk to people that were doing work that they loved to do. I wanted to share their stories so that people listening would feel inspired to do the same.
  2. To get my message out there – The message is simple. You don’t have to do work that doesn’t excite you or that you hate. Life is too short for that. Take a proactive approach and actively seek out and do work that you are passionate about, has meaning to you and fulfills you.
  3. To help as many people as possible TAKE ACTION – hearing inspiring stories can fire up there is no doubt about it. Getting all jazzed up about finding work that you love is only the beginning. I want this podcast to give people actionable steps to take so that they can make their dream a reality.
  4. To build relationships with cool people doing cool things – Passionate people doing things that matter to them and that are making a dent in world? How cool is that? I really couldn’t think of a better group of people to build relationships with.
  5. To learn from those cool people – I am a learner. I love to learn new things. I really love to learn new things in areas that I am truly interested in. Interviewing people who are doing cool and remarkable things is a great way to learn new things in the areas I am passionate about.
  6. To collaborate with cool – Building relationships with people can lead to some amazing things. By deciding to start a podcast and building relationships I am opening myself up to collaborations with some awesome people to do some awesome things together.
  7. To build credibility and trust – My ultimate goal is to inspire and help as many people as I can find and do work that they love doing. In order to do so I need credibility and trust. A podcast is a more intimate form of communication that allows you to get to know me and what I am all about on a much deeper level.
  8. To build my my brand, reputation and business – Helping people find the work that they were meant to do is my mission and I am very passionate about it. Building the Dream Work Project into a brand with a reputation for being the best at doing that is my goal. For those that need additional guidance I want this to be the place they turn to for answers. I know that by providing awesome value and genuinely helping people is a way to build a have a business that I love.

So, as you can see, my WHY was big enough so the decision to start a podcast was an easy one.

I hope it does all for you all that I intended!
